The driving route is
① Gushikawa Castle Ruins, Cape Kyan

③ Ou Island
④ Nirai Bridge, Kanai Bridge
It is a route that goes around the southern part of Okinawa.

SUPER CUB 110
I rented Super Cub 110.
While there were few options in the last minute reservation, I managed to borrow one.
It’s a new model.
5940JPY for 4 hours of use.
Gushikawa Castle Ruins
There is a lot of traffic until pass through the city of Itoman.
But if you drive for 20 minutes, it will turn into a calm atmosphere surrounded by sugar cane fields.
The first destination, the ruins of Gushikawa Castle.
It built on a cliff on the west coast of Cape Kyan at the southern end of the main island of Okinawa.
The exact age of the castle is unknown, and it is said that the ruins of Gushikawa Castle were built by a powerful clan who were expelled from Kume Island.
Cape Kyan
There is Cape Kyan right away from the ruins of Gushikawa Castle.
The southernmost place on the main island of Okinawa.
This cape is divided into the Pacific Ocean and the East China Sea.
The southern coast including Cape Kyan is the last fierce battleground on the Okinawa.
It is designated as the Okinawa Battle Site National Park
The memorial monument “Tower of Peace” has been erected.
Peace Memorial Park
A beautiful park in Mabuni, Itoman City, which was the stage of the last ground battle of World War II.
In the vast garden of about 40 hectares, which has a view of the blue sea and is colored with flowers and greenery.
There are memorial towers and monuments with the theme of “repose of souls, prayer, and peace”,.
There are a museum, a prayer hall, and a square that exhibits materials from the Battle of Okinawa.
Ou island
A small island with a circumference of about 1.7 km, connected to the main island of Okinawa by a bridge of about 100 meters.
There is a fishing port on the island, and there are cafeterias.
You can eat fresh seafood or delicious tempura at affordable prices.
You can go around the island in 5 minutes.
I took a break on the beach.
Nirai, Kanai Bridge
Nirai Kanai Bridge is a bridge with a total length of 660 meters and a height of 80 meters that draws a large curve towards the sea on the way down to National Route 331.
“Nirai Kanai” means utopia across the sea.
You can see Cape Chinen and Kudaka Island, a divine island floating in the cobalt blue sea in the distance.
It was difficult to see the view of the sea side on the uphill, so it is absolutely recommended to run down this bridge.
